# Junior/Medior Infrastructure Engineer

None of that runs on its own. Behind every recommendation we serve in real time sits a fleet our Infrastructure team designs and keeps running — servers racked, powered, and cabled by our hosting partners, Hetzner and OVH; everything from the OS up is ours: provisioning, configuration, the databases that hold client data, and the platforms our engineers deploy onto. This is a software and systems role — no crawling around a data center with a screwdriver. We're looking for a junior or medior engineer to grow into that team.

#### Our Stack

Everything below is provisioned by us, for us

* **Configuration management:** Puppet, r10k, Hiera, Terraform
* **Fleet:** 1,000+ bare-metal and cloud servers
* **Operating system:** Debian GNU/Linux
* **Providers:** Hetzner, OVH
* **Orchestration:** DC/OS (Mesos), Kubernetes, FluxCD, with a growing Kubernetes footprint
* **Web and edge:** Nginx, HAProxy
* **Databases:** PostgreSQL with TimescaleDB, ClickHouse, Aerospike, Redis
* **Monitoring:** Icinga2, Telegraf, PuppetDB, Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic/Kibana
* **Secrets and PKI:** HashiCorp Vault
* **Networking:** nftables, keepalived, OctoDNS, Cilium
* **AI infrastructure:** NVIDIA DGX / GPU fleet, vLLM
* **CI/CD:** GitLab CI
* **Languages:** Python, Bash, Ruby, Go

You don't need experience with every line above — nobody joining does. We value curiosity and a habit of wanting to know how things actually work over a perfect match to any one tool.

#### What You'll Work On

* Extend and maintain the Puppet manifests that provision every server we run — from a freshly delivered Hetzner or OVH machine to a new Kubernetes node
* Help operate and grow the DC/OS and Kubernetes platforms that run Recombee's recommendation engine in production
* Work alongside senior engineers on our PostgreSQL/TimescaleDB, ClickHouse, and Aerospike clusters — replication, backups, failover, tuning
* Build and refine the monitoring and alerting that tells us about problems before our clients notice them
* Contribute to internal tooling in Python and Go — DNS automation, cleanup jobs, small CLIs that make the rest of the team faster

#### What We're Looking For

* Solid fundamentals of Linux administration — processes, systemd, filesystems, and basic networking
* Some scripting experience, in Python, Bash, or anything similar — production polish comes with practice, and we'll help you get there
* Curiosity about configuration management and infrastructure-as-code — Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, or anything in that family
* A working sense of core networking concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls
* Comfort with Git-based workflows and code review
* Good working English — our team, docs, and commit messages all run in it

**Nice-to-have, not required:** exposure to Kubernetes or Docker, SQL and relational databases, or a language like Go or Ruby. We're hiring for a trajectory, not a checklist — someone who wants to grow with infrastructure that runs at a real scale.
